If you’re going to spend a lot of time on your scooter why not jazz it up a little? Just like a car or a bicycle you can take your mobility scooter to the next level by conforming it to your very particular personality. Let’s take a quick look at the items you can use to bring out the best in your new or old ride.
Start with Reflectors
Safety is paramount to the operation of your scooter and with that in mind, why not add some reflectors? While you might normally be running it during the day, a night trip certainly isn’t out of the question! You can improve your safety by affixing reflectors to the front, rear, and sides of your scooter, which will be illuminated by passing headlights. This is a passive safety measure but it makes your scooter look fantastic!
Try Some New Rims
Your scooter came with rims but you don’t have to stick with the same ones. There are a few different styles available, which allows you to further customize your scooter to your own standards and personality. Don’t forget that you can also affix reflectors to your rims!
Add a Rear basket
Do you make frequent trips to the store with your mobility scooter? Don’t forget to add a rear basket in addition to that front basket. You can carry twice the groceries and twice the items. If you want to add some flair to it, go ahead and install a basket liner with a different color or pattern. You can either buy one or make one as part of a DIY sewing project. If you want to take it even further, coordinate the color of your basket liner with your seat cover!
Install Headlights up Front
Going right back to the safety concerns, we recommend adding headlights and LED’s to the front and back of the scooter. The front headlights need to be white for safety and conformity reasons but if you really want to be stylish, then you can add colored LED lighting to the sides – everyone loves running lights!
Add your Own Flair
Finally, don’t be afraid to bling it out. If you visit the craft store you’ll find stick-on crystal accents, so if you’re looking to really stand out and really put your personal touch on it, you can give this and many other craft items a try.
It’s your scooter, so why not make it something that you’d be proud to ride? Check out these items, and come up with a few of your own!
